Handbuilding course

Over the course of 4 weeks, this handbuilding ceramics course is open to both beginners and experienced participants. You will learn essential handbuilding techniques while exploring freely formed shapes and developing your own creative style.

You will create and decorate 3–4 pieces of your choice, ranging from functional objects to sculptural forms. Experimentation with clay and form is encouraged throughout the course.

The teacher will adapt the instruction to each participant’s skill level. After the course, all pieces will be fired and glazed transparent glaze and ready for pick-up following completion.

    Starting January 18

    • 4 × Hand building sessions

    • Focus on essential hand building techniques and free-form exploration

    • Create and decorate 3–4 pieces (functional or sculptural)

  • Up to 4 functional or sculptural objects of your choice

  • The class will run with a minimum of 4 participants and a maximum of 9
